She Be a Poet – Her Joy

Waking from sleep is a strange feeling now, anxiety hits me hard

Duvet is my protector, cushioned, I am wrapped in layers reluctant to move.

Who is this person I have become, the person who lives to hide?

She is new to me, unfamiliar tactics, shy as a blushing bride.

Greek, but where is my kefi?

Soulful, but where is my rhythm?

Woman, when will you return?

Soon.

She Be a Poet – I Wander

Walking with no destination, just to pass the time,

Be at one with nature, slippery mud and rainfall combine.

Trees are swaying, swooning over the sun,

She breaks between storm clouds with a shy expression

“Catch me if you can, hon”.

She Be a Poet – STOP!

Gods of war lost their manners ripping worlds apart,

Shameful, stood there watching mothers crippled dreams way from the start,

Guilty of walking past, the tears that burn the streets,

Why do you pick up the pace of ignorance?

Why don’t you slow down?

Why don’t you stop?

Why don’t you please ask?

Remove your mask…

Blades they bleed of grief not glory.

End of story.

Poem, poetry

She Be a Poet – She’s Up!

She wakes up in her frosty sheets, bed socks they’re kind of fun,

Not fetching or seductive, but they’ll do before the sun.

She opens one eye warily, she knows the day it waits,

Snooze button best invention, a cuckoo she would hate.

Moving from her haven, duvet dreams and pillow promise,

Reaching for the kettle, yeh she’s up, you know she’s on this!

Music is now blaring, sod the neighbours, morning rave,

Brushing teeth to Barry, “Can’t get enough of your love, babe”.
