She Be a Poet ~ Balmy Blue

Created by: Tiago Caetano

Relentless rain, you’re joking,
torture taps, drip drop,
confused mind, May where are you?
please, I beg you to stop.

Relentless rain, sunshine thief,
pickpocket of rays and suntan,
fierce wind drinks, dehydrated dermis,
i’m bluer than cyan.

Relentless rain, time’s up babe,
trickling tricks for the last time,
balmy change arrived today,
sunset and sunrise.

She Be a Poet ~ Fantasy Green

The cold wind hit me hard today as I walked,
it slapped my skin without warning just like life.
You know how it goes, life is good and then it turns,
life is cool before unexpected burns.

Fresh buds are peeping from the ground,
bluebell blanket caresses the forest like a lover.
Petals droop without reciprocation,
run, run for cover.

Keep on moving I say – to myself that is,
affirmations set in natures ears.
Green hues act as balm and bandaid,
skin so worn, tortured by all that is dear.

She Be a Poet ~ Fortune Favours The Faithful

Artist: Kathrin Honesta

Hearts and minds played with,
greedy digits strum a callous tune,
melancholic, I feel cheated now,
lost without red, too blue!

Injustice stabs my soul and hope,
life, in all its capable glory patiently hovers,
waiting to settle in freedoms net,
the view from there is like no other.

Beds are broken, made by unfair tools,
structures formed in secret corners,
heavy, deep in muddy playing fields,
united in harmony through disorder.

She Be a Poet – My Musical Youth

Raised on a council estate, the only Greeks on the block,

Playing on the green outside where the local kids would flock.

Belinda Carlisle told us, that ‘Heaven Is a Place on Earth’

Only Bucks Fizz swore it was ‘The Land of Make Believe’,

A mixed tape of my musical, spiritual birth.

Confusion reigned in ‘Our House’ still,

‘Teardrops’ drenched my cheeks,

My story behind SMASH HITS poster covered walls,

Memorizing tunes, my world,  lyrical geek.

Dancing tall on tip toes, Thursday nights, TOTP,

‘Running Up That Hill’ of teenage life,

‘I Want to Break Free’.
