She Be a Poet ~ Healing Hands

By artist: WanJin Gim thisiscolossal.com

The days are so uncertain, yet, I am excited for what is to come,

Fingertips no longer sore, blistered and bloodied; trying to hold on.

Dramatic states passed before, there isn’t much that can shock,

I tread softly now, soles of my feet crushed velvet, barefoot, no socks.

I just stopped reaching, Carpal Tunnel took its toll,

Repetitive, negative syndrome, disabling beast, way out of control.

Fired shots from narcissists, I dodged their repellent game,

They tried and failed pathetically, altruism, they missed their aim.

She Be a Poet ~ 10 Thousand Steps

Photograph source: unknown

I write this on a Sunday, a hotter than expected day heat on my back,

10 thousand steps, my legs felt them all in the woods, deep in muddy tracks.

Hazy sunshine reflection caressed the still of the water,

Divine familiar presence, an angel guiding my steps – I am her daughter.

Nature’s arms are open wide, I feel her, brave I snuggle close to the wind,

Setting cloudless intentions, the universe is listening –

negativity dumped in the bad vibes bin.

Selenite is glowing, protective crystals circle round,

They bask in moonlit hopes and glories, tender energy finally found.

10 thousand steps to here and my heartfelt words,

There is nowhere that I cannot move, winged intentions, free as a bird.

She Be a Poet ~ Sun-Kissed Soldier

Where do I go from here if the sun isn’t shining on me?

How far will my weakened wings of doubt and distress fly?

Miracles stir when I whisper to my soul and it moves,

Fears rise to the surface exposing my hidden truth,

I bang on the door now my knuckles have renewed skin,

Quite sure my mind will open and invite me in.

I have visited this place before only different,

It makes the choices interesting – somewhat new,

A change of heart and gifting of affection,

No soldier to feed from left-over love – best lessons.

She Be a Poet – My Musical Youth

Raised on a council estate, the only Greeks on the block,

Playing on the green outside where the local kids would flock.

Belinda Carlisle told us, that ‘Heaven Is a Place on Earth’

Only Bucks Fizz swore it was ‘The Land of Make Believe’,

A mixed tape of my musical, spiritual birth.

Confusion reigned in ‘Our House’ still,

‘Teardrops’ drenched my cheeks,

My story behind SMASH HITS poster covered walls,

Memorizing tunes, my world,  lyrical geek.

Dancing tall on tip toes, Thursday nights, TOTP,

‘Running Up That Hill’ of teenage life,

‘I Want to Break Free’.
