She Be a Poet ~ 10 Thousand Steps

Photograph source: unknown

I write this on a Sunday, a hotter than expected day heat on my back,

10 thousand steps, my legs felt them all in the woods, deep in muddy tracks.

Hazy sunshine reflection caressed the still of the water,

Divine familiar presence, an angel guiding my steps – I am her daughter.

Nature’s arms are open wide, I feel her, brave I snuggle close to the wind,

Setting cloudless intentions, the universe is listening –

negativity dumped in the bad vibes bin.

Selenite is glowing, protective crystals circle round,

They bask in moonlit hopes and glories, tender energy finally found.

10 thousand steps to here and my heartfelt words,

There is nowhere that I cannot move, winged intentions, free as a bird.

Does He Represent You? How I Nearly Choked on My Chips!

On your daily Google search, do you find thought-provoking quotes harder to come by? I’ve struggled to find ones that either make me giggle or think, “Nice one”!! So when I do discover what I see as a gem, I become quite giddy with ideas, planning my next blog post to pay homage to a few words that gave me a eureka moment. My most recent find was this, ‘Choose your lady wisely. She represents you.’

I was poised to write about how men see a lady, how men choose this vision in their minds to walk down the aisle, the red carpet or the garden path if she isn’t a lady in his eyes. After a very chatty ladies lunch (because even ladies love to eat) and after a belly full of fish n chips I decided to flip this quote and give it a makeover, if you will. ‘Choose your gentleman wisely. He represents you’.

Honestly, I nearly choked on my chips after hearing of un-gentlemanly methods used and of course, the question of do we attract them popped up like the pesky peas on my plate. Maybe the law of attraction is part of it but as I have written before, this only serves to make us look inside ourselves to take responsibility. I call this the law of letting someone else off, free, so they can do it again to someone else.

It is so important and healthy in any relationship for both to look at themselves, without ego, to change what isn’t working and most importantly to stop making someone feel like they are worthless. This has nothing to do with any law, quote or psalm but has everything to do with common sense and manners.

If he is treating you less like a lady and more like a doormat, do you think it’s ok for his feet to dirty your spirit? If she isn’t treating you like the gentleman you are, or are striving to be, why have the headache, why be close to someone who will embarrass you and make your efforts appear laughable?

What was interesting to me as we got to the profiteroles, was hearing how people who hurt you once have been allowed to creep back in. I have to say that the responsibility does fall on the person who re-opened the door. One of my friends always says, “Send them love and light”, I do, I send them love and enough light so they can see their way out! It can take a lot for me to see the light but when I do, there is no going back and I never have.

If someone has the ability to make you feel small, ashamed and wields their choice weapon of harsh words or actions intending to sabotage the hard work you have put into yourself, how can they be a true representation of you and why would you want them to be?

Intentions – A Limp Lightsaber Is No Use To Anyone

Doing what I love and doing it often has become my mantra. It’s a no brainer really, but if like me, you have been more concerned with the intentions of others than your own, it may be time for you to break the cycle.

If you are a regular visitor to my page and enjoy my blog and poetry posts (hugs if you do) you will know that certain things prick my heart, soul, conscience and passion. It’s true that things bother me and no more so than the actions of people around me or more accurately, how in my mind, I perceive their message.

My perceptions are my sensory journey through life. They continue to be a blessing and at times an annoying itch that I am unable to reach. Well, I don’t want to break my nails or have scars on my ancestral olive skin so if my life is to be lived to the fullest, it is essential to learn a few things first.

My creative journey continues with some very exciting projects and collaborations. However, my spiritual journey took a whole new twist after I discovered Reiki. When I am drawn to something, I tend not to ignore it as I believe there is a reason for the path that is presented before me. It is this path that has taught me the most valuable lesson of 2014.

Reiki is about moving into a state of balance and achieving more balance in your life. My biggest achievement this year was studying and becoming a Reiki practitioner and at the very heart of this energy system is intent.

I mentioned intentions at the start of this post and after dedicating Reiki treatments to open and accepting clients, it has become clear to me that intent is powerful when channelled in a way that helps me and others with no other thought than the good of everyone.

There isn’t a day that goes past when the well-being of my friends and family hasn’t been on my mind. But, without realising, I tipped the scales of balance so far to one side catapulting me into outer space. Space travel is a childhood dream of mine but floating like a lost Jedi with zero power and a limp lightsaber isn’t how I pictured it to be.

The good intentions I have for others will continue to be part of my make-up. To change that would mean an uncomfortable shift in my character and that has been tested enough.

Through Reiki, my Reiki Master and the inspiring women I met in a room of tears, laughter and tea it became abundantly clear that the intention to develop myself through ‘Rei’, Universal and ‘Ki’, Life Force Energies is just the beginning.

How is this possible? Simply put, by the words of another master….

She Be a Poet: What They Say…

What they say matters if telling is in truth,

You think yourself well covered but you don’t see what they do.

What they say sends lightening volts, thunder taps your brain,

You thought yourself recovered but you need to think again.

What they say can’t touch you, prick your skin and you will bleed,

Your thoughts will manifest again in loneliness , double speed.

What they say, if they mean well, is only for the good,

You see them only in clear light, free from shrouded hood.

I somehow asked their opinion, telepathically perhaps?

My energy drew questions, momentary lapse?
