Intentions – A Limp Lightsaber Is No Use To Anyone

Doing what I love and doing it often has become my mantra. It’s a no brainer really, but if like me, you have been more concerned with the intentions of others than your own, it may be time for you to break the cycle.

If you are a regular visitor to my page and enjoy my blog and poetry posts (hugs if you do) you will know that certain things prick my heart, soul, conscience and passion. It’s true that things bother me and no more so than the actions of people around me or more accurately, how in my mind, I perceive their message.

My perceptions are my sensory journey through life. They continue to be a blessing and at times an annoying itch that I am unable to reach. Well, I don’t want to break my nails or have scars on my ancestral olive skin so if my life is to be lived to the fullest, it is essential to learn a few things first.

My creative journey continues with some very exciting projects and collaborations. However, my spiritual journey took a whole new twist after I discovered Reiki. When I am drawn to something, I tend not to ignore it as I believe there is a reason for the path that is presented before me. It is this path that has taught me the most valuable lesson of 2014.

Reiki is about moving into a state of balance and achieving more balance in your life. My biggest achievement this year was studying and becoming a Reiki practitioner and at the very heart of this energy system is intent.

I mentioned intentions at the start of this post and after dedicating Reiki treatments to open and accepting clients, it has become clear to me that intent is powerful when channelled in a way that helps me and others with no other thought than the good of everyone.

There isn’t a day that goes past when the well-being of my friends and family hasn’t been on my mind. But, without realising, I tipped the scales of balance so far to one side catapulting me into outer space. Space travel is a childhood dream of mine but floating like a lost Jedi with zero power and a limp lightsaber isn’t how I pictured it to be.

The good intentions I have for others will continue to be part of my make-up. To change that would mean an uncomfortable shift in my character and that has been tested enough.

Through Reiki, my Reiki Master and the inspiring women I met in a room of tears, laughter and tea it became abundantly clear that the intention to develop myself through ‘Rei’, Universal and ‘Ki’, Life Force Energies is just the beginning.

How is this possible? Simply put, by the words of another master….

She Be a Poet: Optimistically Unhappy

Optimistically unhappy an unusual way to be,
I know there’s something waiting, waiting for me.
How do I try to reach it, I wonder what it is,
I know if I stop trying, I’ll miss my moment of bliss.

Optimistically unhappy, sunshine on Monday, Tuesday, complete haze,
No two days are the same, this life, complicated maze.
Tip toe around each corner and yet I want to run,
My feet itch, impatient, puzzled yearning to overcome.

Optimistically unhappy, hanging on, the weakest rope,
My finger tips are burning, constant reminder to elope.
Optimistically unhappy, it’s happiness I seek,
Why let go of this notion, optimistically, I will find it next week.

Super Hero Or Super Human? The Role We Play

For as long as I can remember, I have been mesmerized by the silver screen. For me, films are not just a way to fill a couple of hours before I go to bed or watch because Sunday is a rain filled wash out; I’m not complaining, a good film somehow shuts out the dark and gloomy weather better than any double glazed window. Film genres are endless and the smallest idea transformed on the big screen will live forever.

The Super Hero knows all about living forever and uses his or her special powers to fight their adversary saving a world that could have been doomed! Great if you have an imagination as wonderful as the writers of these fantastical scripts and makers of these blockbusters. However, there is something misleading about Super Hero’s, sorry to disappoint but it’s highly likely that the powers they own have been made up for your enjoyment only, they don’t really exist but Super Human’s do.

Indiana Jones played by Harrison Ford, in my opinion, epitomizes the Super Human. He doesn’t wear a cape flying from one damsel  in distress to another, no extra sensory perceptions to hear the cries of people trapped in a burning building and he doesn’t turn green or quadruple in size when he is enraged. The one thing Indie does have is strength, I’m not speaking of the strength that can lift a car with one hand but an inner strength that all believers have.

This strength comes from will alone and the knowledge that some things are worth fighting for. No one really wants to fight as this implies struggle and inevitable confrontation with forces that hold you back or stand in the way of your dreams and visions; but what about the good fight? For the greater good. My interpretation of the greater good is doing what’s right for everyone including yourself; or at least something that won’t cause damage or trauma.

This notion and action is not about power but empowering yourself and those around you. No twisting of arms or tactical games, no mind altering substances to give you that momentary edge or hide-away and no guilty conscience to bare. If what you wish for isn’t hurtful to anyone there is no reason why you shouldn’t, at your own pace, try to achieve it. This strength is the most respected, adored, admired and commended by anyone watching your biographical story…an epic in the making.
