She Be a Poet ~ Sunny Spirit

Hold Onto Your Sun

Beach walks on golden sand,
soulmate footprints destined,
sea breeze whispers I love you,
endless tears now dry, past whirlwinds.

Ocean tide moves in time with my breath,
natures soothing balm true healer,
freeing spirit in time to live,
I am my teacher.

Rested arms reach out to the sun,
rays lovingly touch with faithful feeling,
dreams of destinations clear daylight,
visual art of believing.

I see colours bursting bravely taking flight,
a vibrant spray covering toxic gloom,
a rare and beautiful spectacle,
blissful, I am attuned.

How do you sing a love song,
when the words are hard to hear?
Long are the hours in winter,
a lonely sofa and ice-cold beer.

It’s all good, that’s what people say,
a statement that hides sad truths.
I plead with fictional characters,
assailants jumping from roof to roof!

Lives and lies entwine, lovers fooled,
twisting over tight shoulders to be heard.
Crippling imagination, mind, allow me to be,
out of gas, I’ll walk now, keep on moving to be free.

Undaunted, deep-rooted will resides,
solar plexus awakens; senses alert.
Intuition transpires; my heart in warm hands,
guiding me truly when no one else can.

She Be a Poet ~ Aphrodite’s Daughters

She loved the colour lilac,
Engagement gemstone,
Restricted wedding ring,
Mum was far from home,
Yet somehow she fit in.

Kindness came so easily,
Nurture her middle name,
Brown eyes fixed on the ocean,
Dreams lay far beyond,
Would life ever be the same?

Dark-haired beauty landed,
Her sisters holding hands,
Tightly they grasped,
Nails scarring skin,
Nervy of the promised land.

Island breeze altered,
Its warm touch replaced,
New island unsociable breeze,
Aphrodite’s daughters,
Committed unshakeable grace.

She Be a Poet ~ Roses Grow in Essence

Precious souls looking down,
Illuminating light,
Their tranquil tones good company,
Deep into the night.
They loved me in my lifetime,
They love me now they’re gone,
Watchful unwavering protection,
Melodic, soothing song.
I smell sweet roses where I walk,
I see them, full bloom, ruby red,
He grew them in the garden,
So much pride, peaceful bed.

She Be a Poet ~ Healing Hands

By artist: WanJin Gim thisiscolossal.com

The days are so uncertain, yet, I am excited for what is to come,

Fingertips no longer sore, blistered and bloodied; trying to hold on.

Dramatic states passed before, there isn’t much that can shock,

I tread softly now, soles of my feet crushed velvet, barefoot, no socks.

I just stopped reaching, Carpal Tunnel took its toll,

Repetitive, negative syndrome, disabling beast, way out of control.

Fired shots from narcissists, I dodged their repellent game,

They tried and failed pathetically, altruism, they missed their aim.
