She Be a Poet ~ Holding On

Artist: Muhammed Salah

Love you or ‘I’ love you?
The difference seems clear,
one is just something you say,
the other begs, you are wanted here.

Say it, don’t say it?
Actions will spill the beans,
I love you with a passion,
deep in lucid dreams.

To hug or to hold?
Arms outstretched for both,
one, a moment of reassurance,
the other, solid commitment – protective oath.

She Be a Poet ~ Aphrodite’s Daughters

Artist: Victoria-Rivero http://www.victoria-rivero.deviantart.com

She loved the colour lilac,
Engagement gemstone,
Restricted wedding ring,
Mum was far from home,
Yet somehow she fit in.

Kindness came so easily,
Nurture her middle name,
Brown eyes fixed on the ocean,
Dreams lay far beyond,
Would life ever be the same?

Dark-haired beauty landed,
Her sisters holding hands,
Tightly they grasped,
Nails scarring skin,
Nervy of the promised land.

Island breeze altered,
Its warm touch replaced,
New island unsociable breeze,
Aphrodite’s daughters,
Committed unshakeable grace.
