Looking for your love Match? Want to find Harmony? Getting all fired up over Tinder? Want to fish for romance, because apparently there is Plenty of Fish to go around? All these dating websites have been set up, according to their creators, to help busy people find the one that they want. It’s amazing to me how single people have bought into this fallacy.
What ever happened to chance meetings at your local pub or bar? I can’t remember the last time I heard someone say, “Our eyes met over a packet of salted peanuts, he was drinking a pint and I was on the Malibu”. This jovial to some but uncomplicated encounter to others seems like a lifetime ago but it was a good life.
If you’ve met the man or woman of your dreams on these websites, you are in the minority. Good luck to you if you have. For others it’s just a way to flirt and for a woman to get the euphoric feeling that only the attention from a man can bring. It’s momentary and if you do happen to set up a ‘meet’ it won’t be long before things change; not in a good way.
Why am I so negative about this whole concept? I’ll tell you why. The dating websites who charge will make more money out of you than ones called WillYouMarryMe.com or BeMyWifey.co.uk. Dating is endless but if you are serious, you won’t be needing to update your subscription when you are proposed to will you? They have the vast population by the short and curly’s, making your eyes water and your pockets lighter.
There are some women who will use this method because they want to feel attractive, sexy and wanted. There are some who foolishly believe everything a man tells them to be the gospel truth but what they haven’t told them could turn out to be more harmful. Men will say anything especially when they get a sense of your vulnerability.
Historically speaking it was widely believed that women held in their hands all the power whether they had manicured fingers or covered in marigolds. It seems that things have changed considerably, with men appearing to be fully in control. So he is too busy to go out and meet a woman in the conventional way but has time to spend online until he bags one? Telling her what she wants to hear or worse what she needs?
Well after some extensive research I have determined that roles in the dating society haven’t just changed for the fella. Men might be surprised to know that women on these sites don’t put all their eggs in your basket. While men are doing their egotistical best to get one woman, she has the brains to notice that there are thousands more men she can talk to. It’s a cat and mouse game and once again busy people seem to have the time to play.
