Poets: Phillis Wheatley African, American, Poet and Slave.
‘But how presumptuous shall we hope to find
Divine acceptance with the Almighty mind
While yet o deed ungenerous they disgrace
And hold in bondage Afric: blameless race
Let virtue reign and then accord our prayers
Be victory ours and generous freedom theirs’.

Nike: The Greek Goddess of victory had an admirable strength and was able to run at surprising speed. With her victory wings, she was able to fly to battlefields where she presented the victorious with a wreath of laurel leaves. Whether in brutal combat or peaceful competition, Nike had the spirit to face both.
